Do you know a horse that needs help?
We have all heard the stories of the horse next door that does not have any food, water or shelter. They are thin and sickly just trying to survive these hard winter months in Western New York. If they are lucky enough to find their way to a warm barn with proper care, we have done just part of our job... now the rest of the story. When a horse is seized, an individual or a horse rescue facility will open their barn doors to care for these neglected horses.
Then the financial burden is placed on the caregiver. If you are interested in giving a donation to the Horse Resource to be used to offset the expenses that accrue for the care of these mistreated horses such as vets, blacksmiths and feed. Any help that you feel that you can give will be greatlly appreciated by the horses that we care so deeply for.
If you suspect abuse of a horse then please contact us or fill out our “Report abuse” form.
If you feel that you are aware of a horse that is being misused or is not receiving the proper care you may contact the Cattaraugus Sheriff's Department at 716-938-9191 or contact us. We all have to help our Equine Friends in time of need.
